Early detection is the key to breast cancer survival, and early detection is only possible when women are informed and aware of breast cancer risks and the current recommendations for screening.

That message was the premise of a one-day Breast Cancer Symposium presented on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 by Passavant Hospital Foundation and the UPMC Cancer Center and Breast Center at Passavant. The symposium, included late afternoon and evening programs to accommodate the schedules of working women, was held in conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The goal of the symposium was to educate the public about breast health and breast cancer care and prevention, while honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
